Ever looked at a new 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1 and said to your self “Wow, how did Chevy make such as badass car?” Well you’re not the only one. So lets go over just what’s inside the ZL1. For starters, it’s equipped with a 580hp supercharged 6.2L engine, which makes it the most powerful Chevrolet Camaro ever.

In addition to having a powerful engine, it also features highly advanced chassis and powertrain technologies. If you ask Al Oppenheiser, the Chief engineer for the Camaro, he’ll tell you that the 2012 Camaro ZL1 is basically a sports-car with the technology and performance of a super-car.

And for those of you who would disagree with AL, check out these quick facts, the ZL1 has more horsepower than a Ferrari 458, has a better power-to-weight ratio than the Porsche 911 and lastly, it has more torque than a Aston Martin DB9 V12. Don’t believe it? (Mustang Owners) than just look it up.

The Camaro was built with balance in mind, meaning regardless of whether you just want to race it all day or just use it as a day-to-day vehicle, you’ll feel good knowing you have the best car on the road.

And for those of you who are fans of the 1969 Camaro ZL1, well here is some goods news. The 2012 version is faster and “greener”. You can “smoke” cars in races and not worry about the “smoke of domination” effecting the planet. So not only did Chevy manage to make an amazing car, but they are also helping to save the planet one ZL1 engine at a time.

The newest member of the 11 second club is the baddest car on the planet, the 2012 Chevy Camaro ZL1. It takes 11.93 seconds for a ZL1 to go a quarter-mile. Now how many production vehicle you know that can do that? Not many.

And addition to that, it takes only 4 seconds for the ZL1 to go from 0-60. Tony Roma, one of the Camaro ZL1 engineers recently stated how he’s proud of the fact that the ZL1 is good at everything. Meaning, you can dominate on the racetrack or you can easily just use it as your daily driving vehicle.

And than there’s this fact, the Camaro ZL1 is actually too quick for some NHRA-sanctioned racetracks. I wont bore you with the technical details, but just know that it’s a very fast car.

The original ZL!s that were introduced in 1969 is still popular because of its dominance on the drag strip. So Chevy knew that when making the 2012 ZL1, they had to figure out a way to raise the bar even higher and to meet and exceed expectations.

So how did CHevrolet create the latest ZL1? Well basically they took the Camaro 2SS and modified the heck out of it. ANd they included special mods just for better drag strip performance.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has a suggested retail price of $55,000 and that includes the destination charge of $900. It comes standard with a manual transmission but you can get a six-speed automatic transmission with Tapshift for an addtional $1,185.

Everyone in America already knows that the Camaro is the best muscle car on the road, but now even the people in Dubai knows just how great the Camaro is because Evo Middle East, a leading automotive magazine based in Dubai, has awarded the 2011 Camaro Convertible with the Muscle Car Of The Year Award.

Editor-in-Chief of Evo, Bassam Kronfli along with a few other people from Evo told Chevrolet how they simply liked the overall presence and body styling of the Camaro Convertible. They also mentioned how they were fans of the new 5th gen Camaro in 2010 and now that it’s available without a roof, it just makes it even better.

The Camaro convertible is one of the most popular sports car models out right now mainly because there were a few buyers who liked the hardtop Camaro but wanted to wait for the Camaro convertible to be released before buying one. As for the specs, there’s not much difference between the coupe and the convertible model. The base model features a 312 hp v-6 engine while the SS model features a 426 hp V-8 engine.

Granting the wish of millions of young Camaro fans from around the world, Hot Wheels and Chevrolet recently teamed up to create a Camaro Hot Wheels Edition. It was introduced as the 2011 SEMA Car show.

This new concept Camaro is loosely based on the 1968 version of the 1:64-scale Hot Wheels toy car. The two teams that joined together to create the car are the Hot Wheels Design studio based in California and the General Motors Design studio based in Michigan. The two teams created the own unique version of what they thought the Camaro Hot Wheels concept car should look like, than they compared notes and “merged” the two designs together.

GM design director, Phil Zak, mentioned how multiple generations of car lovers played with  Hot Wheels Camaros when they was young, while wishing they could drive the real thing, so by creating this custom Camaro, it’s like making those childhood dreams a reality.

The folks at the Hot Wheels Studios was just as excited. Vice president of design team, Felix Holst, mentioned how Hot Wheels and the Camaro brand have been teamed up since the Camaro came into existence. As a matter of fact,  the Camaro was the First Hot Wheels car ever produced (somewhere a Mustang owner is shedding a tear while reading this).

As for the styling of the car, here are just a few of the details: a metallic green paint finish with a Hot Wheels logo on the quarter panels, a ZL1 grille,  a ZL1 rear spoiler, Euro-style taillamps with new inner smoked lens and  Hot Wheels sill plates. The engine is a V8 with a six-speed manual transmission.

The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro is the safest sports car in existence. Atleast that’s what people are saying after the Camaro received a perfect 5 star rating on the latest National Highway Traffic Safety Administration safety test.

Mustang owners would probably respond with something like “The Mustang received a 5 star rating also”, but the Camaro is the only vehicle to receive a perfect score in a 6 categories (vehicle’s overall rating, rollover rating, driver and passenger front barrier crash test ratings, and driver and passenger side crash ratings).

It’s good that a sports car has such as good safety rating because when it comes to crash ratings, the car models that most people think is the safest is full sized sedans. But the folks at Chevrolet spent many years perfecting the 5th Generation Camaro and now not only is it the most awesome car on the road, but it’s also one of the safest.

I’m sure most of you have either seen or heard of the latest transformers movie called “Transformers: Dark of the Moon”. The movie was pretty good but the great news is that Chevrolet decided to create a special edition Camaro. The Camaro will only be sold in the United States, Japan, China, Canada, South America, Europe and the Middle East.

It makes a lot of sense that Chevrolet would create a special edition Camaro. The transformers movie franchise helped make the Camaro the most popular sports car in America. The Camaro’s sales numbers are high and it doesn’t seem like they’re going to dip anytime soon.

For those of you who don’t know, the latest generation Camaro played as BumbleeBee in the first 2 Transformers movies. The films are extremely popular generating over $1 billion in tickets sales worldwide.

Now while the Camaro was always a popular car, because of it’s 7 year hiatus, it’s popularity declined over the years. But all that changed once the first Transformers movie was released. It was so popular that the Camaro was one of the most searched for vehicles online in 2009 and the cars actually wasn’t even released until right before 2010.

Now, as for the details of the new BumbleeBee edition, you’ll be able to purchase it as a $3,000 package on any Rally Yellow Camaro. It will include the popular black rally stripes that stretch from the spoiler all the way to the front of the hood. The rims will be 20 inches and the wheels will be painted black. And perhaps the best feature (atleast for you Autobot fanatics), the car will have the actual Autobot Shield logo on the front quarter panel and the center caps.

As for the interior, the seats will be black leather with yellow stitching. The Autobot logo will also be on the front headrests and the lid of the center console. If you want to buy yourself one of these Bumblebees, Chevy dealers will starting taking orders in this month.
